blogging

this whole blogging thing is new to me. I have all of this great stuff to say until I get on here and actually sit down to type! I had my 2:10 run this saturday morning. I felt a little slow but I enjoyed listening to the extra mile podcast and looking at all the fall foliage, although it was misty and overcast. I am very excited about how my training for the Laurel Highlands ultra is coming along! This morning at 4am my brother Josue started his 100 mile adventure in the Cactus Rose 100 miler in Banderas texas. My thoughts are with him and hoping he will have a wonderful finish! Also tomorrow, I am going up to NYC to watch my sister and her husband run the marathon up there! I guess that is my update for today.

running on weekends

running on weekends is tough for me! I have to get up early or go really late at night since I can't really afford to miss out on family time. This Saturday was really rainy, windy and there was even a little lightning. I went running for 1:30 through all of it. I had a great run regardless. Sunday was gorgeous, and I had a great run while listening to all the good submissions from the extra mile podcast. My nutrition must have been horrible because I was exhausted after that. Around 10pm after a study session and dinner I reached a third wind that caused me to have little and poor sleep. So, today on my day off running I need to get a good nights rest! I should be doing my mountains of homework so I am off of this thing for now.

exited about training, running, school, and life in general

This is just going to be a quick post due to the fact that I should be doing my french homework right now! I had an awesome 50 minute tempo run today. I am soo happy that I have abi for a sister. She made an awesome training plan for me! I have been pretty good about following it and the improvements are really showing now. I am really really excited about it. I have pretty much made my decision to train for and run the full Laurel Highlands Ultra which is 70.5 miles. I can do it! After much training and prep! Before that race I am running as a training run the Hat 50K and am also excited about that. Heck, I am just all around excited about everything and life! Josué is running Cactus Rose 100 miler in 8 days! I know he is going to kill it! i can't wait. Abi got her acceptance letter for Boston Marathon today yipeee! November 1st I am going to NYC to cheer for Lesley at NYC Marathon! I love my family! Never a dull moment! Everything is going awesome at school, although, I could have higher grades, always! I am pulling in a couple of B's on some tests, argh! Oh well. I have two races planned for November, the Bear Creek Challenge and the Dirty Bird yey! They will get me even more motivated for my training. I am joining the national honors society of foreign languages and also running for their team, relay for life so that is really awesome. I am finally feeling part of WCU, I have met some friends there and some great study partners. Also I have a chance to start working on my graduate project and have it published! whew! so many things to be grateful for. What beautiful weather to top it off! It is even more amazing considering the nor'easter that hit us last week! well, i have rambled on about stuff so I'm getting to my français! au revoir! gabi
